Substance Abuse Education Requirements in the State of Georgia
Every state is going to vary in terms of requirements to earn a certification in substance abuse. The Georgia Addiction Counselors Organization has laid out the substance abuse education requirements and steps necessary for an individual to go down the path of being certified.
The first step is to find a Certified Clinical Supervisor as this person will be your go-to, to help guide you through the process. There is also substance abuse education requirements you need to meet through an accredited organization, such as ACTS Consulting, Inc. Once you do that, you need to get counseling work experience, earn a passing score on a national exam, and complete your application and supporting documentation.
